Dr. Rachel Cezar is currently the USDA/APHIS National Horse Protection Coordinator who is responsible for enforcing the Horse Protection Act in the United States. She graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine and interned at the Dubai Equine Hospital in the United Arab Emirates before joining the Horse Protection Program. Dr. Cezar has had a tremendous impact for not only the welfare of all horses in the US, but also for encouraging diversity in veterinary medicine and introducing students to the variety of opportunities that a DVM degree can offer. Dr. Allen Cannedy is currently the Director of Diversity at North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine and runs the Small Ruminant and Camelid Mobile Veterinary Service which specializes in treating sheep, goats and llamas. Click to read more about Dr. Allen Cannedy.
