Dr. Rachel Cezar is currently the USDA/APHIS National Horse Protection Coordinator who is responsible for enforcing the Horse Protection Act in the United States. She graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine and interned at the Dubai Equine Hospital in the United Arab Emirates before joining the Horse Protection Program. Dr. Cezar has had a tremendous impact for not only the welfare of all horses in the US, but also for encouraging diversity in veterinary medicine and introducing students to the variety of opportunities that a DVM degree can offer. Dr. Catalina Cabrera is currently an associate veterinarian at the Livestock Herd Health and Reproduction Service at UC Davis where she specializes in reproductive management, artificial insemination, embryo transfer and male and female reproductive evaluation and infertility. She graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and worked at a private practice with bovine embryos for four years in Uruguay. She then moved to the United States in 2008 where she completed a residency in Livestock Herd Health and Reproduction and a Master in Preventative Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis.
